“Donald Trump Strongly Express India and China with ‘Tremendous Tariff-Maker’ Statement”

On Tuesday, Donald Trump sharply criticized India, China, and Brazil, labeling them “tremendous tariff-makers” and warning that his administration would no longer tolerate their trade practices. Speaking at a retreat for House Republicans in Florida, the former U.S. President vowed to prioritize American interests, declaring, “We’re not going to let that happen any longer because we’re going to put America first.”

Trump acknowledged that these nations—key members of the influential BRICS bloc—were acting in their own best interests but claimed their actions were ultimately harmful to the United States. “They mean us harm… but they basically want to make their country better. China is a tremendous tariff-maker, and so are India, Brazil, and many other countries. But we’re not going to let that happen anymore,” he said, drawing cheers from the audience.

These remarks come as speculation grows about a potential meeting between Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Washington, possibly as early as next month. The two leaders spoke over the phone on Monday night, though it remains unclear whether tariffs or other trade issues were part of the discussion. New Delhi’s stance on illegal immigration also reportedly came up during the call.
